What I'm doing personally
You find me at a kind of crossroads in my life. As of 2024, I’ve been working 30 years. I’ve been married for 25. My kids left home this year too (one graduated, one started university).
All of this gets you thinking and planning, so I don’t have a clear picture that I can describe to you right now. It’s a work in progress 🤔
So instead, why don’t I tell you what the last 5-10 years has been like? I’ve been a work-from-home dad since before it was a common thing. When I switched to this, my kids were 7 and 4 (and there was no such thing as Zoom meetings). It’s been hard, but I loved it and I think my kids appreciated it too. You don’t get that time back, so I’m glad I was there.
During that time I’ve worked independently, as a freelance consultant in design and digital. My wife is freelance too, and together we form a micro agency. We have a dog called Milo, who’s an NSDTR (Google it).
